Bio

Robert Leary was named the Herkimer College, Head Lacrosse coach in August of 2021. Leary, a Herkimer 1985 Herkimer graduate, began his coaching career as an assistant at Herkimer in 1988. Winning the Regional and National Championship for the Generals in his first season coaching.

Over the past 20 years, Leary has served as the Head Lacrosse Coach at three separate institutions including Marian University, SUNY Delhi and SUNY Poly and an Assistant at three others colleges winning the National Championship twice (1988 and 2018)

1989-90: Assistant Coach-Elmira College

1996 to 2002: Head Coach-SUNY Poly

2002 to 2016: Head Coach-SUNY Delhi

2018: Assistant Coach Onondaga CC (National Champions)

2018 to 2021 Marian University

Coaching Honors:

2012 NJCAA Region III Lacrosse Coach of the Year

2005, 2010, 2013, 2014 Mountain Valley Conference Lacrosse Coach of the Year

Leary has also spent five years serving as president of both the Region III Lacrosse Coaches Association and the NJCAA Lacrosse Coaches Association
