Generals Show Out at Cortland Classic

The Generals Track and Field team continues to improve as they head for the start of regionals the next two weeks. The Generals had stellar performances from Avion Harris (Niagara Falls, NY) , Jynnae Stevens(Schenectady, NY) and Notorius Gue (Unadilla, NY).

Avion Harris turned in a sparkling performance in the Men's 1500 finishing 10th overall and qualifying for Nationals. His time 4:12.2 was his PR of this young season improving from last week's 4:31 on the same track. Harris turned in personal bests in his young career finishing 10th in the 400 meter dash and 11th in the 800. His time of 2.03.24 in the 800 qualified him for Nationals in May.  Harris also qualified earlier in the Cortland Classic with an outstanding performance of 4:12.21 in the Men's 1500 meters placing him among the best middle distance runners nationally. Jynnae Stevens just missed qualifying for the finals on Saturday in the 100 meters finishing 9th overall with a season best 13.34. Stevens however turned in a solid performance in the Women's 200 meters finishing 8th overall with a season best 27.42, which qualified her for Nationals in May. Notorious Gue had a PR in the Men's Triple Jump placing sixth with a jump of 12.38 (40'7''). Avion Harris turned in personal bests in his young career finishing 10th in the 400 meter dash and 11th in the 800. His time of 2.03.24 in the 800 qualified him for Nationals in May. Harris also qualified earlier in the Cortland Classic with an outstanding performance of 4:12.21 in the Men's 1500 meters placing him among the best middle distance runners nationally.

The Generals are back in action this weekend (4/30) and (5/1) when they host the Heptathalon, Decathlon and 10,000 M.
