HERKIMER, NY -- Herkimer College Women's Soccer advanced to the Region 3B Championship with a win in penalty kicks over SUNY Broome on Tuesday night.
The Generals got on top early with a Lydia Reimer goal in the 14th minute and maintained the shallow lead for over 60 minutes before the Hornets scored its lone goal of the night on a free kick. The two teams advanced to overtime and remained scoreless throughout the two overtime periods.
Elizabeth Cingranelli and Lydia Reimer each scored penalty kicks for the Generals, who conceded zero goals in three penalty attempts.
Herkimer advances to the Region 3B Final against Onondaga on Saturday, Oct. 28, at Genesee CC at 1:00 PM.
