Over the past few years, Herkimer College’s track and field has achieved some major success. This is a result of the hard work our athletes put in that pushes the Herkimer College program to the top. Our goal is to strive for both exceptional team and individual performance. We look for hard-working, dedicated, and talented athletes who have the desire to reach their highest potential.

Why choose Herkimer College track and field?

There are many reasons track and field athletes come to Herkimer College, including:

Our intensity.

The team starts training in early February and begins their competition the beginning of April. Due to the unpredictable upstate weather, we use several forms of indoor training such as: circuit stations, pool, plyometrics, indoor running, and technique work.

Our academic emphasis.

At Herkimer College, we stress academics as our top priority, so dedicated students can always expect to achieve their goals. Our students have some of the best graduation and transfer rates in the country, thanks to our outstanding support services, academic programs, and athletics.

Our team environment.

The men's and women's track and field program trains and travels together but competes separately. The team tends to become a close-knit family which encourages and supports one another. Many friendships are formed that continue on after they leave Herkimer.
