Generals Start the Season at St. Lawrence
Canton, NY - The Generals Men's and Women's teams finally opened the 2023 Track and Field season at St. Lawrence University in Canton NY. The Women's team had a very strong showing finishing 3rd place overall with a team score of 54 points. Breanne Millson earned top honors in the 400 Meter Hurdles and finishing in 1:13.7. Amelia Bowman-McCoy also had a good day placing 3rd in the 1500 Meters (5:13) and 5th in the 5000 Meters (20:15). Jynnae Stevens 27.7 time in the 200 Meters was good enough to place 4th. Lydia Reimer placed second in the 800 meter run and also ran on the 4x400 team which finished 3rd.
The Generals 4x100, 4x400 teams also qualified for the NJCAA Championships next month. Millson, Bowman-McCoy and Stevens also qualified for Nationals with their performances yesterday.
On the Men's side Herkimer native Brian Reile qualified for Nationals in two of his events, the 100 Meter High Hurdles and High Jump. Reile won the High Jump and finished 4th in the High Hurdles. Joaquin Nietes finished 3rd in the Triple Jump.
The Next meet with be at Utica University on April 7th and 8th.
