Region III Championships

2017  - Nicholas Herrlett One Meter Diving & Three Meter Diving, 2016 - Nicholas Herrlett One Meter Diving & Three Meter Diving, 2011 - Greg Griffin 200 yd. Backstroke, 2009 - Scott Ledwith 100 yd. Breaststroke, 2008 - Tim Manoogian 100 yd. Breaststroke 

Since 2006, the men have captured seven individual regional championships.

Team accomplishments include:

  • Over 20 Mountain Valley Collegiate Conference Records
  • A second-place finish in the 2010, 2011 & 2016 Region III Championships
  • Seven NJCAA Academic Team of the Year honors (1998-99, 1999-00, 2000-01, 2002-03, 2006-07, 2008-09 and 2011-2012) for a GPA above 3.0
  • Several All-Americans

 

The Herkimer College swimming and diving program has accomplished many successes over the past few years and we have established ourselves as a top regional contender. Our swimmers and divers demonstrate an intense love of the sport and supreme dedication that drives their achievement in the pool, as well as the classroom.

The season begins in October and runs until mid-March. Practices consist of a variety of sets for a comprehensive training regimen. At the beginning of each season, time is spent breaking down each stroke, and proper technique is stressed so that our athletes are confident in their abilities. The goal is always to produce a well-rounded, technically superior student-athlete.

Why choose Herkimer College swimming and diving?

Our swimmers benefit from being part of a top athletic program, having made numerous appearances at NJCAA National Championship meets, receiving several All-american honors in the process. However the program also stresses heavily on academics, making student-athletes accountable in both the classroom and pool from day one. This process has resulted in a rich tradition.

Since 2006, the men have captured three individual regional championships, including the 100 yard breaststroke twice and the 200 yard backstroke. The men’s team also finished second in the 2010 & 2011 Region III Championships.

Team accomplishments include:
