Matt Travis Breaks Herkimer Record in 1000 Yard Free
HERKIMER, NY -- The Herkimer Generals hosted their first home invitational in over 2 years. This was the unveiling of the brand new timing system and scoreboard. Six other schools attended (Monroe, Genesee, Jamestown, Erie, Cobleskill, and Delhi) and Herkimer managed to stand out. This meet saw the debut of Swimmers Bobby Dunlap and Kla Awar. Bobby swam strong in the 100 Freestyle and the 50 Freestyle and placed 3rd in the 100 Backstroke. Kla made an impressive debut in the 50 and 100 Free. Jasmine Martin swam strong in the 100 and 50 Free as well as trying the 100 Breast for the first time in her collegiate career. Matt Travis broke the Herkimer College record for the 1000 yard freestyle with a time 11:55.83. He also placed well in the 500, and 200 IM as well.
