About the Program
Herkimer College is known as “Home of the Champions” – and the men’s soccer program is certainly one of the reasons for that. We have won:

Why play soccer for Herkimer College?
Our Record
Herkimer has established itself as one of the elite junior college soccer programs in the country. The Generals are known for their entertaining offensive style of play and disciplined defense. The program had won 27 straight Region III Titles from 1991-2017 (28 overall) and played in 17 NJCAA national championship games, winning 10.
Our Exposure And Opportunities
With the type of success we achieve, both on the field and in the classroom, comes national exposure. Past players have received athletic and academic scholarships to schools such as Syracuse University, Boston College, Ohio State, South Carolina, West Virginia, Coastal Carolina, Hartford, Bowling Green, Binghamton, Southern Connecticut, Lynn, Le Moyne, Barry University, and American International. The program has also produced seven NJCAA National Players of the Year, 11 Region III Players of the Year, three Region III Male Athletes of the Year, and more than 50 All-Americans. Several Generals have played or continue to play professionally.

Our Outstanding Experiences
Pre-season begins in mid-August with scrimmages against four-year schools. The Generals open each season with the Coliseum Soccer Club Classic that features four of the top-ranked NJCAA schools in the country.
Our Region
Herkimer is part of Region III which is one of the biggest and strongest regions in the country. The winner of the Region III playoffs receives an automatic bid to the NJCAA National Championship Tournament.
Our Year-Round Dedication
The off-season program includes team practices and lifting in the winter, and spring outdoor games with four-year schools such as Syracuse University, Colgate University, Hartwick University, Binghamton University, and LeMoyne College. Players receive a summer workout program to follow to ensure that they will be mentally and physically fit coming into pre-season. This year-round process has helped the Generals to be one of the best junior college programs in the country.
Our Commitment To Helping Others
The team is very active in the community. We participate in activities like the Salvation Army’s holiday Adopt-A-Family program as well as the American Heart Association’s Heart Run and Walk, the Make-A-Wish foundation, and the Violence Prevention Awareness Program.
