Men's Soccer Records Third Straight Shutout in 3-0 Win at Jamestown

JAMESTOWN -- The Herkimer Men's Soccer team (3-0) continued its impressive start to the 2023 campaign with a 3-0 win at Jamestown CC.

The first half was a quiet one, highlighted by a Cathal Carney penalty-kick save in the 38th minute to bring a scoreless tie into the half. That wouldn't last long as Christian Baker opened up the second half with a strike that would give the Generals the slight edge.

Carney's PK save eventually preserved his 7th career shutout. In 17 career games, he has allowed just two goals, increasing his save percentage to .966.

In the 62nd minute, Seunghun Yoo scored on an assist from Carney. Ten minutes later, Yoo scored again, giving the Generals the insurance goal to secure the 3-0 victory.

Yoo has scored at least two goals in all but one of the team's three games this season. Additionally, he has scored in each game this season.

The Generals will open up conference play on the road at undefeated Fulton-Montgomery (3-0) on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 3:00 PM. The game will be played at Gloversville High School.
