The Herkimer College men’s basketball program has established itself as one of the nation’s premier Division III programs:

Why play basketball for Herkimer College?

Head Coach Matt Lee’s program has produced many student-athletes who have gone on to play basketball at all levels of the NJCAA, NCAA and NAIA – as well as professional basketball leagues. At Herkimer College, even more than playing great basketball, we place a strong emphasis on academics and giving you the skills you need to succeed in life.

When you choose to play for Herkimer College, you become part of a dedicated, hard-working team. The basketball season is the longest of all college sports. Commitment begins on the first day of the fall semester and continues into March. Team members are expected to maintain high standards in the classroom and to be involved in the community.

Tryouts are held in early October for all men interested in maintaining good grades, being good citizens and good teammates, and becoming part of a program that strives to win, both on and off the court.
