For just the third time in the history of the program, the Herkimer Generals Men's Basketball team are playing in the 2024 NJCAA Division III National Championship game!
Herkimer (29-2) defeated No. 10 seed Riverland (31-4) in a thriller on Friday night.
The Generals trailed by as much as six points with 7:29 in the first half. They responded with a 7-0 run before ending the half with a three-point lead.
Herkimer pulled away by as many as 13 points with 3:50 left, but the Blue Devils went on a 10-0 run to cut the Generals lead to 70-69 with 18 seconds left.
Freshman Jayson McGhee sealed the game with two free throws to give Herkimer the three-point victory.
The Generals will play No. 1 seed Dallas College-North Lake in the NJCAA Division III National Championship game at 5:00 PM. Come out and support the Generals in their quest for history!
