Herkimer College Appoints Nicholas Lanckton Head Swimming and Diving Coach

HERKIMER, NY—Herkimer College has appointed Nicholas Lanckton, of Stittville, NY, to the role of head swimming and diving coach.

Lanckton, who earned his associate degree from the College before going on to receive a B.A. in communication arts from Utica College, was an accomplished student-athlete. While swimming for the Generals, Lanckton set records for the 1650, 1000, and 800 yard relays.

Lanckton remained poolside, working as a lifeguard at the House of the Good Shepard since 2016 and for Upstate Cerebral Palsy since 2017. Lanckton also lifeguarded at the College for two years from 2016 to 2018.

Lanckton also works as a teacher's assistant at the House of the Good Shepard, where he implements student individualized education programs, assists during class time, and more.

In his new role at Herkimer College, Lanckton will be responsible for developing a competitive swimming and diving program at the College, including recruitment and scouting initiatives, team development, practice preparation, and program expansion.
