Bio

A former SUNY Cortland basketball player, Coach Hazzard joins the Herkimer Generals after success as an assistant at the High School level.  Most recently, he served as an assistant coach for his alma mater Cooperstown Central School with both the Girls and Boys Varsity Basketball programs.  During his time at Cooperstown, the Girls Basketball program appeared in two NYSPHSAA State Final Fours, winning the Class C State Championship in 2015. Hazzard worked closely with three 1st Team All-State players, who continued on to successful careers as high level collegiate student-athletes. In addition, he is an assistant for the Cooperstown Varsity Baseball Team. During his tenure, the program earned two NYSPHSAA State Final Four appearances, including the 2019 State Finals.

Coach Hazzard has worked closely with the NJCAA and the Herkimer Generals for the past ten years, assisting and attending numerous National Championships hosted on campus. His deep experience in two-year college athletics will serve as a huge asset in the recruitment and development of the Women's program.  Hazzard is committed to the success of student-athletes on the court and in the classroom.  He currently serves as an adjunct professor in the SUNY Oneonta's Sport Management program.  Hazzard holds a B.S. from SUNY Cortland and M.S. from Colorado State University.

He currently resides in Cooperstown, NY with his wife Stephanie and sons Paxton and Grayson.
