The No. 9 ranked Herkimer Baseball began its season with a strong Florida trip, finishing 6-3, including a sweep of No. 6 ranked Northern Essex CC
Donovan Rhoden
Sophomore Donovan Rhoden (Ballston Spa, NY) started the trip off slow, going 0-for-5 with two strikeouts, but finished the trip on a seven game hitting streak, hitting an incredible .608 with four home runs, 16 RBI and four stolen bases. In just seven games, he surpassed his total for home runs, RBI and stolen bases.
Mikey Rodriguez
Sophomore Mikey Rodriguez (Pelham, NY), a transfer from Wilmington University, reached base in all nine games to start the season, and has a multi-hit game in six of the first nine games.
Tsubasa Tomii
Freshman Tsubasa Tomii (Tokyo, Japan) made a stellar debut against Northern Essex with 13 strikeouts and three hits in just 6.1 innings.
