Bio

The 2024-25 season will mark Kyle Roepnack's 19th season as an Athletic Trainer at Herkimer College.

One of the most distinguished athletic trainers in the country, Roepnack is a two-time NJCAA Region III Athletic of the Trainer Year, having won the honor in both 2019-20 and 2022-23.

Most recently, Roepnack was named the 2024 NJCAA Athletic Trainer of the Year, an award given to an athletic trainer who best exemplifies the overall purpose of leading their institution, athletic department, and student-athletes through athletic training. 

As the head athletic trainer, Kyle Roepnack is responsible for evaluating and treating athletic injuries and working with athletes through rehabilitation. Kyle’s goal is to ensure that every athlete is as healthy as possible for their athletic contests. A wide variety of treatments are offered including ultrasound, electric stim, whirlpool therapy, hot and cold therapy and various therapeutic exercises.

Kyle is also the Chairperson for the Region 3 Health and Safety Committee, a member of the NJCAA Student Athlete Safety and Welfare Council, and the NJCAA representative on the National Athletic Trainer’s Association Intercollegiate Council for Sports Medicine.

Kyle has been a certified athletic trainer since 1998. He holds a B.S. from Springfield College and previously worked for the Utica City School District at Proctor High School. Kyle has worked at Herkimer since 2005.
