Eleyna Rivas, October Athlete of the Month

Herkimer College sophomore cross country standout Eleyna Rivas, a Pre-Employment Police Training major from Gloversville, NY, has been named the October Green & Gold Female Athlete of the Month for her exceptional performances throughout the month.

Rivas earned NJCAA Region 3 Athlete of the Week honors for the week of October 20–26, following an impressive showing at the Region 3 Cross Country Championships. Her strong October campaign began with a 5th-place finish at the Mountain Valley Cross Country Championships, clocking a time of 25:02.

She continued her momentum at the NJCAA Region 3 Championships hosted by Finger Lakes Community College, again placing 5th overall. Rivas demonstrated significant improvement on the championship course, cutting her early-season time of 31:27.6 down to 25:16.08.

Her consistent performances were instrumental in helping the Generals secure 2nd- and 3rd-place team finishes at their championship events.
