Jayden Stephens, 2022 January/ 2021 December Athlete of the Month

Herkimer, NY- Herkimer College has announced its Green and Gold Athletes for December/January. They are women’s basketball player Jenna Faulkner (Otego, NY) and men’s basketball player, Jayden Stephens (Yonkers, NY).

Stephens currently ranks in the top 20 in the region in points, rebounds and assists. He is averaging 4.8 assists, 14.1 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. In addition, he ranks first on the team in minutes per game (34.1) and assists, and ranks second on the team in points and rebounds. Stephens was integral during the 2020 season when the Generals finished fifth in the nation. He serves a team captain this season. The Generals are currently ranked fourth in the national rankings with a record of 16-2 on the season. 

Head Coach Matt Lee said, “Jayden’s adjustment to the scoring guard has been a big boost for us. He’s shown that he’s a scholarship player, consistently stepping up against the top competition this season. We’re very proud of his development.”
