Doug Powless, 2022 April Athlete of the Month
Lacrosse Player Doug Powless is the April Green & Gold Athlete of the Month.
Herkimer College has announced its Green and Gold Athletes. They are Lacrosse player Doug Powless (Six Nations, ON) and Track sprinter Jynnae Stephens (Schenectady, NY) win April’s Green and Gold athletes of the month.
Powless versatility and team first mentality helped the Generals win their first Mountain Valley Championship since 2016. Powless finished the season with 2 goals, 60 ground balls, winning 24 face-offs and caused 26 turnovers. Powless finished the season as a 2nd team all-region selection for Defense and the Lewis Johnston award. Coach Bob Leary said “Dougie was the unquestioned leader of our team from day one. He has helped elevate the expectations of the team despite low numbers. We wouldn’t have accomplished all that we did, without Dougie”.
