Caira Miles, November Athlete of the Month
Women's Soccer defender Caira Miles is the 2018 November Green & Gold Female Athlete of the Month
Herkimer NY – Herkimer College has announced its Green and Gold Athletes for the month of November. They are men’s basketball player Teshaun Beckles (Bronx, NY) and women’s soccer player Caira Miles (Little Falls, NY).
Beckles, a sophomore forward, is second on the men’s basketball team in scoring with 12.2 points per game. He is shooting 52% from the field, which includes 43% from the 3-point line for the Generals, who are currently 9-1 and ranked #3 in the NJCAA Division III men’s basketball poll.
Head Coach Matt Lee said, “Teshaun has had a great start to his sophomore season. His on the court energy has set the tone of our 9-1 start”
Miles, a sophomore defender, was named 1st team Mountain Valley Conference and was named to the All-Tournament team at the 2018 Women’s Soccer National Championships. She led the Generals to a 5th place finish at that tournament.
“Caira is a dedicated player who does whatever she can to help the team,” said Head Coach Jason Palkovic. He also added, “Her passion and desire are second to none. We are surely going to miss her.”
