Musa Pough, March Athlete of the Month
Men's Basketball forward Musa Pough is the 2019 March Green & Gold Male Athlete of the Month
Herkimer NY – Herkimer College has announced its Green and Gold Athletes for the month of March. They are Women’s softball player Ciel Iida (Tokyo, Japan) and Men’s Basketball player Musa Pough (Brooklyn, NY)
Iida, a freshman pitcher, had a record of 5-0 in the month of March with an ERA of 1.29. She struck out 17 and only gave up 19 hits is 27.2 innings pitched. “Ciel has worked very hard since arriving at Herkimer and it’s now starting to pay off” states Herkimer softball coach PJ Anadio. “ The best part is, not only is Ciel a wonderful pitcher, she’s an even better teammate and person.”
Pough, a sophomore forward, was a key part of the Men’s Basketball National Championship run. For the year, Pough averaged 11.6 points, 6.5 rebounds and shot 46% from the field. In March, he was a member of the All Tournament teams at both the Region III Championships and Division III National Tournament. Coach Matt Lee “ Musa’s all around play helped us earn our 7th regional title since 2010 and our first National Championship since 1991”
