Derrick Felder, January Athlete of the Month

Herkimer NY – Herkimer College has announced its Green and Gold Athletes for the month of January.  They are women’s basketball player Alexandra DeBeatham (Albany, NY) and Derrick Felder (Yonkers, NY).

DeBeatham, a freshman guard, leads the Generals in scoring with 12 points per contest and steals with 3 per game. Coach Gabe Coffey states “DeBeatham always plays tough and smart. She often guards the other team’s best player and runs our offense. She has continued to develop from an offensive standpoint and her mental toughness is what sets her apart.”

Felder, a sophomore guard and winner of this award as a freshman in January 2018, has led the Generals to a record of 21-1 and a #2 ranking in the latest NJCAA Division III National Poll. Felder leads Herkimer with 15.8 points per game and 6.5 assists per game.
