Cody Kaestle, March Athlete of the Month

Herkimer College has announced its Green and Gold Athletes for the month of March. They are men’s baseball player Cody Kaestle (Phoenix, NY) and women’s softball player Taylor Zaino (Newport, NY).

Kaestle, a sophomore pitcher, went 3-0 in the month of March with 1.59 ERA. He struck out 13 batters in 11 innings while only allowing 2 walks. “Cody was projected as our ace last year before getting a stomach virus that really hurt him physically for his whole freshman year,” said Coach Jason Rathbun, “Cody is healthy and strong this spring and has been a huge surprise for us. We are so glad to have him throwing at his best.”
