Amanda Mascia, Female Athlete of the Month

Herkimer College has announced its Green & Gold Athletes for the month of January.  They are men’s basketball player Derrick Felder (Yonkers, NY) and women’s swimming/diving athlete Amanda Mascia (Matoaca, VA).

Mascia broke the 50 yard freestyle school record in December, broke and set the 100 yard freestyle record twice this season, broke the 100 yard individual medley record in December and lastly, broke the 50 yard backstroke record for the second time this season. “Amanda works hard in practice and always wants to improve. She is mature, fun to be around, a good team player but, more importantly, she’s humble,” said head swimming/diving coach Vicki Brown.
