Keeanna Wolcik, April Athlete of the Month

Herkimer College has announced its Green and Gold Athletes for the month of April. They are men’s lacrosse player Jack Babka (Draper, UT) and women’s softball player Keeanna Woicik (Baldwinsville, NY).  

Woicik, a sophomore pitcher and DP, has been outstanding in the circle and at bat for the Generals this season. She has a 10-0 record on the year with a .80 ERA and 74 strikeouts in only 52 innings pitched. Her hitting stats are just as impressive, compiling a .532 batting average with 6 HR’s and 28 RBI’s on the year.

When asked about Woicik’s April performance, Coach PJ Anadio offered this. “Keeanna is very deserving of this award! Not only has she been spectacular in the circle as we have always known, she is doing well with the bat too. She has been explosive this year at the plate and can truly change the game with one swing. Sometimes kids tend to rest on their laurels after having a first season like Kee did, being a 1^st Team All-American. She went the other way and worked even harder this year. It’s truly great to see grit, hard work and dedication rewarded!”
