Nicole Purcell, April Athlete of the Month

Sophomore Nicole Purcell was named Green & Gold Female Athlete of the Month in April. Purcell – a Business: Sports & Recreation Management major at Herkimer College – helped her team to a fifth place finish regionally in 2015.

A native of McGraw, NY – Purcell tallied 14 goals for the Generals in nine games, totaling 16 goals on the season which was 13^th best in the region. Helping the captain to those totals was two four goal performances against Niagara and Broome, amassing four multi-goal games in 2015. Offense wasn’t Purcell’s only feat however, accumulating 50 groundballs which was tied for the sixth most in the region.

“Nicole is an outstanding student-athlete both on-and-off the field,"" said Head Women's Lacrosse Coach Dianna Ste-Marie. ""She is powerful, which helps her do a lot of things during a game. Those talents have her continuing her education next year at the University of Charleston, West Virginia!”
