Softball pitcher Toni Secreti is the 2014 April Green & Gold Female Athlete of the Month
Sophomore pitcher Toni Secreti was named Female Athlete of the Month in April. Secreti, a Liberal Arts & Sciences: General Studies major at Herkimer College, never lost a start - accumulating nine wins (9-0) - all complete games.
A resident of Syracuse, NY, Secreti pitched 49 innings and struck out 64 batters. It helped the Generals accumulate 16 consecutive wins, going 16-1 in April. Collectively, of her five shutouts, three have come in her last three games. Tompkins-Cortland, North Country and Niagara County managed just six hits in 15 innings, allowing Secreti to drop her ERA to 1.77 on the season which is 11th best in the nation.
Secreti’s Head Coach Peter Anadio stated, “I'm extremely proud of Toni and what she has been able to accomplish here on our campus in two years! She has grown immensely as a player, a student and most importantly as a person! She works extremely hard off the field, in the weight room, her nutrition, her conditioning and all of those habits just roll over to on the field. She is one of the most dominant pitchers in the history of the program and this region!”
