
Brown Breaks 100M Record as Generals Compete at Utica Spring Invite
The Herkimer Generals Men's & Women's Track and Field teams delivered another promising performance at the Utica Pioneer Spring Invite on Saturday, marking their third meet of the 2025 outdoor season.
The Generals faced off against a competitive field of NCAA and NJCAA programs, highlighted by a record-setting effort from freshman sprinter Kimora Brown.
Brown continued her strong debut season by breaking the Herkimer College program record in the women's 100-meter dash, placing second overall with a time of 12.93 seconds. Her performance came against a stacked field and marked the first time a Herkimer athlete has run sub-13 seconds in the event. She also competed in the 200-meter dash, finishing seventh with a time of 27.47 seconds.
In the women's 400-meter dash, freshman Haley Cornine crossed the line in 1:12.80, placing eighth. Cornine also returned to action in the 200-meter, running a time of 31.04 seconds to finish 24th.
On the men's side, sophomore Donnell Davis led the way in distance events with a time of 17:32.98 in the 5,000-meter run, placing eighth in a deep field. In the 800-meter run, sophomore Michael Green posted a strong effort with a time of 2:11.19, placing 26th.
The Generals also saw representation in the throws, where sophomore Cameron Borges threw 10.89 meters in the men's shot put to place 16th overall. He also competed in the discus, though he did not register a mark.
Overall, the meet was another important step forward in the outdoor campaign for the Generals, who continue to improve week by week. With strong efforts across the sprints, distance, and throws, Herkimer athletes are building momentum as they head into the heart of their spring schedule.
