Women’s Soccer Falls to First Region III Foe of the Season

The Herkimer College Women's Soccer team faced off against Genesee Community College in a tightly-contested match that ended with a 1-0 victory for Genesee.

The game was a defensive battle for much of the match, with neither team managing to break through in the first half. Both sides created opportunities, but strong defensive play kept the scoreboard empty through the first 45 minutes.

The decisive moment came in the 73rd minute when Brooklyn Vienna, assisted by Grace Devine, found the back of the net for Genesee, giving them the 1-0 lead. Herkimer made efforts to equalize but was unable to convert any of their opportunities into a goal.

Cassidy Will had an impressive performance despite the loss, making 11 saves to keep her team in the game.

With this result, Genesee Community College improved their record to 5-2-2, while Herkimer College fell to 5-3-2. The Generals will look to bounce back with a home match on Wednesday against Onondaga CC at 5:00 PM
