Mcneil's Third Double-Double in Last Four Games Lifts Generals Over Panthers

The Herkimer College women's basketball team secured a dominant 71-42 victory over Tompkins-Cortland Community College on Saturday.

The Generals started strong, building a 17-6 lead in the first quarter and maintaining control throughout the game. 

Sophomore Sage Geisler (Queens, NY) had an outstanding performance, leading the Generals with 21 points on 8-of-15 shooting, including five three-pointers. She also added three rebounds, four assists, and a steal in just 25 minutes of play. 

Freshman Kavashia Archie (Utica, NY) contributed significantly as well, scoring 14 points, pulling down four rebounds, while recording three assists and a steal. Sophomore Imani McNeil was a force inside, finishing with 12 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double while adding a block and a steal.

Sophomore Charity Dygert (Herkimer, NY) added nine points, showcasing her ability to contribute from beyond the arc with three three-pointers. Sophomore Anderson Eggleston (St. Johnsville, NY) made her presence felt on the boards with nine rebounds, along with five points and two assists.

The Generals' defense was exceptional, holding Tompkins Cortland to just 38.5% shooting and forcing 19 turnovers. Herkimer also controlled the boards with a 39-28 rebounding advantage, which helped fuel their transition offense.

Herkimer has a quick turnaround, hosting the SUNY Broome Hornets tomorrow at 12:00 PM.
