
Four Generals Reach Double-Figures in Win at North Country
The Herkimer College women's basketball team delivered an impressive performance defeating North Country Community College with a decisive 89-20 victory. The Generals controlled the game from the start, establishing a 22-6 lead in the first quarter and steadily increasing their advantage throughout.
Sophomore Sage Geisler led Herkimer's offensive charge, scoring 14 points and adding four rebounds, nine assists, and eight steals in 22 minutes of play. Sophomore Kerisa Van Olst added 14 points, four rebounds and four assists. Freshman Kavashia Archie added 12 points, eight rebounds, five assists and five steals.
Sophomore Charity Dygert contributed significantly as well, putting up five points and grabbing 7 rebounds, while also dishing out 5 assists and snagging 5 steals, showcasing her all-around game.
Herkimer's defense was outstanding, holding North Country to just 16.3% shooting from the field and preventing them from hitting any three-pointers. The Generals also dominated the boards, out-rebounding North Country 50-26. Herkimer's aggressive play led to 16 steals, which fueled their transition game and added to their high score.
This dominant win boosts their confidence as they continue their season, and they'll look to carry this momentum into their next matchup on Wednesday at 5:00 PM vs. Hudson Valley CC.
