Herkimer, NY - Lexi DeBeatham (Menands, NY) and Amber Been (Bronx, NY) combined for 45 points to lead the #9 Herkimer Generals to an 88-53 rout of Fulton-Montgomery on Wednesday night in the Herkimer Varsity Gym. The win keeps the Generals in a virtual first place tie with North Country in the Mountain Valley Conference with and 8-1 record and lifts their overall record to 16-4 on the year.
Herkimer didn't waste any time as they jumped on the Raiders with a 34 point first quarter to take a 20 point lead at the end of 1. Center Alysia Roldan (East Greenbush, NY ) had 16 points while Junasia Lanier (Albany, NY) chipped in with 12. Namir Davis (Utica, NY) scored 8 points and put in a stellar defensive effort that helped Herkimer cruise to the 35 point win.
The Generals and Raiders will tangle again on Monday, Feb 10th, this time on Fulton-Montgomery's home court in Johnstown, NY. Game time for the rematch is set for 5:00 PM.
