The Herkimer Generals Softball Team hosted Jefferson Community College for a doubleheader on Thursday, falling in both games.
In Game 1, the Generals fell 8-0. Herkimer managed two hits in the game. Jessica Zalucki and Alexis Broderick each singled. Kerrigan Crysler pitched the first five innings. Emma Carlton finished the game in relief.
Jefferson scored in the second and third innings to take an early lead. They added insurance runs late to close out the game.
In Game 2, Herkimer fought hard but dropped a 15-8 decision. The Generals exploded for seven runs in the fifth inning.
Kyndra Sequin had three hits and two RBIs. Yetnelyz Lugo-Mateo added two hits and two RBIs. Jessica Zalucki had two hits and drove in a run. Alexis Broderick and Kimora Brown each added RBIs.
Aubrey Lewis started the game and Emma Carlton pitched in relief.
Herkimer moves to 2-16 on the season. They look to bounce back in their next matchup against Erie CC on Saturday.
