
Generals Turn in Strong Performances at RPI Capital District Classic
The Herkimer Generals Track and Field teams continued their outdoor season with a solid showing at the RPI Capital District Classic on Saturday. Competing against a deep field of NCAA and NJCAA teams, the Generals made their mark in several events at their fifth meet of the season.
On the women's side, Kimora Brown led the way once again, placing seventh overall in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.02 seconds. She also finished 15th in the 200-meter dash, running 28.02 seconds. Brown then teamed up with Haley Cornine, Eleyna Rivas, and Siera Jacques to help the Generals' 4x100 relay team place sixth with a time of 56.28 seconds.
Rivas and Cornine both competed individually in the 400-meter dash as well. Rivas placed sixth with a time of 1:06.09, while Cornine ran 1:11.79 to finish eighth. Cornine also competed in the 200 meters, recording a time of 31.32 seconds.
On the men's side, Tajuan Thomas turned in a strong day in the sprints, finishing 31st in the 100-meter dash at 11.73 seconds and 20th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.49 seconds. Logan Kraszewski competed in the 100-meter dash as well, running 12.77 seconds, and also recorded a time of 58.61 seconds in the 400-meter dash.
In the distance events, Donnell Davis and Michael Green competed in the 1500-meter run. Davis finished 19th in a time of 4:25.27, while Green came in 20th with a time of 4:27.27, setting a PR in the event.
The Generals' performances in Troy showed continued progress across both sprint and distance events as the team looks to peak with the postseason approaching. Herkimer will return to the track next weekend, aiming to set more personal bests and gear up for the upcoming NJCAA Region III Championships next weekend at Little Falls High School.
