
Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Finish Third at Herkimer Invitational
The Herkimer College Generals hosted the 2024 Herkimer Invitational on Saturday, competing against strong teams from Genesee Community College and Erie Community College. The Generals showed great effort and determination, producing competitive performances in multiple events.
Men's Team Highlights
Herkimer's men's team delivered commendable performances across several events. Earl Lang stood out in the 1-meter diving event, earning a first-place finish with a score of 206.35, while Caleb Sanjurjo finished in second-place with a score of 180.80.
Overall, Herkimer's men's team accumulated 37 points, placing third in the meet's men's rankings.
Women's Team Highlights
On the women's side, Nyla Ferline was a key performer, competing in both individual and relay events. Ferline swam a competitive 200-yard freestyle, finishing fourth with a time of 2:58.38. The women's 200-yard medley relay team of Tha Ha, Nyla Ferline, and Annabelle Monk clocked in at 3:02.85, securing second place and earning crucial points for the team.
Herkimer's women's team earned 96 points, also finishing third in the overall women's rankings.
Final Team Scores
Genesee Community College dominated the invitational, finishing first in the combined team scores with 768 points, followed by Erie Community College with 257 points and Herkimer College with 133 points.
