Herkimer College's men's soccer team secured a decisive 5-0 sophomore night victory over Onondaga Community College, maintaining their unbeaten streak at 8-0.
Herkimer set the tone early, with Matty Casson opening the scoring in the 13th minute, assisted by Rowan Slater. The first half ended with Herkimer leading 1-0, but the action picked up significantly in the second half.
At the 57th minute, Kyle Macfarlane doubled Herkimer's lead, with Casson providing the assist. The momentum continued when Rowan Slater found the net in the 69th minute, assisted by Brian Valdovinos, extending the lead to 3-0. Just eight minutes later, Manasseh Turenne scored an unassisted goal, making it 4-0. Casson then sealed the victory with his second goal of the match in the 79th minute, assisted by Ross Mackinnon.
Goalkeeper Andrew Moulton, supported by the strong defensive unit, maintained the clean sheet over 80 minutes. Teo Sand entered at the 80th minute, completing the shutout.
The win brought Herkimer College's record to a perfect 8-0, while Onondaga Community College dropped to 7-3-3. The Generals head to Hudson Valley CC on Saturday for the final road contest of the regular season.
