The Herkimer College men's lacrosse team continued its strong season with an 18-8 win over Jefferson Community College on Wednesday, improving to 7-1 — the program's highest win total since 2015.
After a tight first half, Herkimer exploded in the third quarter with 11 goals to break the game wide open. Lukas Quinn and Ryan Hoyt led the offense, combining for five goals and five assists. Chris Rose added a hat trick and two assists, while Eric Attleson chipped in three goals and two helpers of his own.
Herkimer's balanced attack was on full display, with nine different players finding the back of the net. The Generals also capitalized on man-up opportunities, scoring twice on the power play in the third.
Jefferson stayed close early behind a strong first quarter from Adam Pooler, but the Generals' depth and pace proved too much over four quarters.
Herkimer will now turn its attention to a major showdown at home this Saturday at 4:30 PM against nationally-ranked Genesee Community College.
