Herkimer Men’s Lacrosse Rolls to 2-0 Start with Another Dominant Victory

The Herkimer Generals men's lacrosse team continued its red-hot start to the season, overpowering Mohawk Valley Community College with a commanding 28-1 victory. With back-to-back dominant performances, the Generals have outscored their opponents 56-2 through their first two games.

The Generals wasted no time asserting control, racking up 11 goals in the first quarter while keeping Mohawk Valley scoreless. Freshman Ryan Hoyt led the charge once again, netting multiple goals in the opening period, while Eric Attleson, Brodie Davis, and Ethan McIntyre each found the back of the net to fuel Herkimer's early surge.

Herkimer continued its relentless attack in the second quarter, adding seven more goals before halftime. Sophomores Jordan Fox and Lukas Quinn contributed key scores, while the defensive unit shut down any opportunities for Mohawk Valley. The Hawks managed to get on the board late in the fourth quarter with an unassisted goal from Jacob Posello, but by that point, the game was well out of reach.

Casey Ryan provided a spark in the second half, scoring multiple times, including a power-play goal in the third quarter. Owen Pierce, Alek Murrietta, and Leonardo Checo also contributed to the offensive outburst, rounding out a well-balanced scoring effort from the Generals.

Defensively, Herkimer was once again a wall, limiting Mohawk Valley to minimal scoring chances and suffocating their offensive efforts. Goalie play and transition defense were on full display, ensuring that the Generals controlled possession for most of the game.

With the victory, Herkimer improves to 2-0 and will look to keep its momentum rolling as the season progresses with another home matchup on Saturday against Mercer Community College.
