Lacrosse season ends with loss to Monroe in Region IIIA Semifinal

Rochester, NY - Monroe Community College used a decisive 7-1 run in the second and third periods to pull away from a 3-3 tie and defeat the Herkimer Generals by a score of 12-5 in a Region IIIA Semifinal on Wednesday afternoon in Rochester. Monroe now moves on to the Region IIIA Championship on Saturday vs Onondaga CC.

Zach St Hilaire (Brasher Falls, NY) scored the first of his two goals on the day to open Herkimer's scoring in the first quarter and Jace Babka (Draper, UT) added another one to make the score 3-2 in Monroe's favor at the end of 1. Ryan O' Hara (North Syracuse, NY) added a goal early in the second period to tie the game at 3 before Monroe made the big run to put the game out of reach for the Generals. St. Hilaire scored his second goal of the game to cut the lead to 6-4 late in the second period and Alex Gorgas (Whitesboro, NY) scored the final Herkimer goal of the season in the 4th quarter to make the score 10-5 before the Tribunes scored the last two goals of the contest. Jack Babka (Draper, UT) had another strong game in goal, making 22 saves on the afternoon. 

The loss ends the Generals season with a 5-5 record.
