Newton, NJ - Zach St. Hilaire (Brasher Falls, NY) scored 7 goals in his college debut as the Herkimer Generals opened the 2019 campaign with a 16-2 win over Sussex CC (NJ) on Sunday afternoon in Newton, New Jersey. The Generals took a 7-2 lead into halftime and then shut down the Skylanders in the second half, outscoring them 9-0 to secure the win.
Sophomore Jace Babka (Draper, Utah) added 5 goals in the win and Ethan Babowicz (Marcy, NY) added two goals in the win. Dylan Utter (Forsyth, Georgia) and Ryan O' Hara (North Syracuse, NY) added one goal apiece for the final total of 16 on the afternoon. Goalie Jack Babka (Draper, Utah) had a strong performance in goal, making 11 saves on 13 Sussex shots.
Coach Jamie Ireland's squad now look forward to their home opener on Saturday, March 30, as they will host the Jefferson CC Cannoneers at Wehrum Stadium. Game time is set for 1:00 PM.
