Herkimer Men's Season drops 2 games on Western NY road trip

Batavia NY and Erie PA - The Herkimer Generals Men's Lacrosse team season ended on Sunday afternoon with a 14-3 loss to Mercyhurst NE in Erie, PA. This was a day after the Generals dropped a 19-4 decision to nationally ranked Genesee CC in Batavia, NY. The losses kept the Generals out of a spot in the 2018 Region III Playoffs and dropped their final record on the 2018 season to 4-6.

On Saturday, Herkimer and Genesee battled early with the Cougars taking a 3-1 lead into the second quarter. But Genesee went on a 6-0 second quarter run to lead 9-1 at halftime and cruise to the victory. Herkimer's Pat Gribbon (Stone Ridge, NY) led the Generals attack with 2 goals while Dylan Gruneisen (Potsdam, NY) and Ryan O' Hara (North Syracuse) added one goal apiece. Jack Babka (Draper, UT) had 35 saves in goal for Herkimer in the loss. 

On Sunday in Erie PA, the Generals fell behind 5-0 and couldnt recover in the loss to Mercyhurst NE, who claimed the final Region III playoff spot with the win. O'Hara led the Generals with 2 goals while Jace Babka (Draper, UT) added one goal on the day. Jack Babka stopped 39 shots in the losing effort.
