First road victory comes against SUNY Broome

BINGHAMTON, NY – Netting six goals in the third quarter of Sunday's (3/20) game against SUNY Broome at East Middle School Alumni Stadium helped the Herkimer Generals men's lacrosse team defeat the Hornets in regulation 8-5.

Herkimer (2-1) managed one goal in the first 30 minutes of play, and went into halftime tied 1-1 despite their offensive struggles. The team didn't get things going until they found themselves down 2-1 with 12:30 left in the quarter. In the next eight minutes of play, the offense scored six unanswered goals to break the game open by the fourth (7-3).

Netting three of those six goals was Jeramiah Robinson (Johnstown, NY). Coming off a game-winner against Dean at home, the sophomore used three Jon Wilkins (Norwalk, CT) assists to give him his first hat trick of the season. Robinson now has four goals on the season which is one behind team leader Justin Flint (Endicott, NY).

Scoring the other three goals in the quarter was James Redpath III (Rome, NY), Cavanagh Rigby (Bexley, OH) and Ryan Fischer (Monroe, NY). Redpath III scored with 11:14 left in the third, Rigby scored with 9:49 and Fischer scored with 7:54.

In goal for the Generals was Charles Rosaschi (Highland Mills, NY). The freshman had another solid game to earn his second win of the season. He saved 19 shots, giving double digit saves in his last two contests.

Herkimer's next game is against Finger Lakes Community College. They'll host the Lakers at Wehrum Stadium on Wednesday (3/23) with game time scheduled for 4 p.m. Finger Lakes is fifth in the region currently with a 4-5 record. They've lost their last three games in a row.
