Bio

The 2024-25 season will mark Coach Heitz's fourth as an assistant coach with the Herkimer Men's Basketball program. Before that, Heitz served in a variety of roles within the program, including head coach of the team's junior varsity basketball program for two seasons.

He brings over three decades of coaching experience to the men’s basketball program, including 16 years as the Varsity Men's Basketball Head Coach at Whitesboro High School. Known for his leadership, discipline, and eye for offensive execution, Heitz built a respected high school program and helped shape countless student-athletes on and off the court. He continues to do the same in his role with the Generals.

Heitz is a retired physical education teacher and holds degrees from Herkimer County Community College (AS), SUNY Brockport (BS), and SUNY Cortland (MA).
