Generals Extend Win Streak to 10 Behind Oladitan's 29 Points

The No. 2 ranked Herkimer Generals Men's Basketball team put on a dominant performance on the road, securing a 93-71 victory over SUNY Adirondack on Friday evening. With the win, Herkimer improves to 20-3 overall and 12-1 in conference play.

Oladitan's Double-Double Leads the Way

Leading the charge for the Generals was Oladele Oladitan, who delivered a stellar 29-point, 14-rebound double-double. He was a force in the paint, shooting an efficient 11-for-18 from the field while also knocking down three three-pointers. His presence on the boards helped Herkimer control the glass, finishing with a 37-28 rebounding advantage over SUNY Adirondack.

Team Effort Fuels High-Scoring Night

Herkimer's offensive attack was well-balanced, with four players scoring in double figures.
      •     Kenny Freeman contributed 14 points and 6 rebounds, making key plays inside the paint.
      •     Jayson McGhee added 12 points and a game-high 7 assists, orchestrating the Generals' offense with precision.
      •     Xavier Cardona came off the bench to provide a valuable 13-point spark, shooting an impressive 5-for-7 from the field.

As a team, the Generals shot 52.9% from the floor and 76.2% from the free-throw line, keeping the pressure on SUNY Adirondack throughout the game.

Second-Half Surge Secures Victory

The game remained tight in the first half, with Herkimer holding a narrow 39-37 lead at the break. However, the Generals exploded in the second half, outscoring the Timberwolves 54-34 in the final 20 minutes. Defensive intensity and efficient shooting allowed Herkimer to pull away, turning a close contest into a comfortable win.

Defensive Effort Stands Strong

On the defensive end, Herkimer forced 12 turnovers and recorded 11 steals, making it difficult for SUNY Adirondack to find an offensive rhythm. Jayden Norris and McGhee led the defensive effort with three steals each, while Oladitan added a blocked shot to his dominant performance.

Looking Ahead

With another strong showing, the Generals continue to build momentum as they approach the final stretch of the regular season. Herkimer will look to extend their winning streak in their next matchup against Fulton-Montgomery CC.
