No. 4 Herkimer Men's Basketball Opens 2025 with Dominant Conference Win

The No. 4 ranked Herkimer Generals Men's Basketball team continued its impressive season with a commanding 84-51 victory over Clinton Community College. The home crowd at Herkimer was treated to a dazzling performance as the Generals improved their record to 9-1 overall and 6-1 in conference play.
 
Herkimer set the tone early, holding Clinton to 21 points in the first half. The Generals didn't let up in the second half, outscoring their opponents 47-30 and securing their dominance on both ends of the floor.
 
Leading the charge for Herkimer was sophomore Oladele Oladitan (Staten Island, NY), who notched a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while adding 4 assists, 2 blocks, and 2 steals in an all-around effort. Freshman Kenny Freeman (Rochester, NY) delivered a standout performance off the bench with a game-high 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists. Sophomore Nehemiah Yisrael (Brooklyn, NY) chipped in a career-best 10 points and seven rebounds.
 
Herkimer's defense was equally impressive, forcing 19 turnovers and holding Clinton to just 32.8% shooting from the field. The Generals also won the battle of the boards, outrebounding Clinton 54-51.
 
 
The Generals shot 43.1% from the field, including an impressive 45.5% from beyond the arc. Their aggressive play also paid off at the free-throw line, where they converted 60% of their attempts.
 
The Generals will look to extend their winning streak when they take on another conference opponent on January 12th against Division II Monroe Community College.
