No. 4 Herkimer Men's Basketball Downs TC3 at Home

The No. 4 ranked Herkimer College men's basketball team improved to 7-1 on the season with a 66-53 win over Tompkins Cortland Community College on Saturday.

The Generals took control early, outscoring Tompkins Cortland 32-20 in the first half and maintaining their lead throughout the game.

Sophomore Oladele Oladitan (Staten Island, NY) led the way for Herkimer, finishing with his fourth double-double of the season with 10 points and 14 rebounds. He also added a season-high five steals.

Sophomore Tajuan Thomas (Atlanta, GA) contributing 14 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks. His physicality in the paint and consistent scoring were key to the Generals' success. Sophomore Jayson McGhee (New Rochelle, NY) provided a spark off the bench, scoring 11 points.

The Generals' defense was a major factor in the win, holding Tompkins Cortland to just 22.2% shooting from three-point range and forcing 11 turnovers. Herkimer also dominated on the boards, out-rebounding their opponent 47-30.

The team effort helped Herkimer secure another victory as they continue their impressive start to the season. The Generals will have a quick turnaround, hosting SUNY Broome tomorrow at 2:00 PM.
