Norris Career-Best 20 Points Gives Generals Edge at Cayuga

The Herkimer College men's basketball team cruised to a commanding 93-66 win over Cayuga Community College.
 
The Generals came out firing, putting up an impressive 60 points in the first half to set the tone and control the game from start to finish.
 
Sophomore Jayden Norris (St. Louis, MO), set a career-high in points, with 20 on 8-of-12 shooting. He also chipped in four rebounds and four assists.
 
Freshman Kenny Freeman (Rochester, NY) added 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting with five rebounds.
 
Sophomore Jayson McGhee (New Rochelle, NY) provided a big boost off the bench, leading the team with 17 points on 5-of-10 shooting from deep. 
 
Freshman Josiah Smith (Poughkeepsie, NY) played a key role in facilitating the offense, finishing with 10 points and five assists.
 
Herkimer shot an efficient 52.2% from the field, including 40.6% from three-point range, and dominated the boards with a 38-31 rebounding edge. Their defense was solid, forcing 11 turnovers and holding Cayuga to just 39.7% shooting.
 
The Generals' balanced scoring and high-energy play made the difference in the game with contributions coming from all over the roster. Herkimer has a quick turnaround, traveling to Finger Lakes CC on Sunday for a matchup with the Lakers at 2:00 PM.
