No. 2 Herkimer Men's Basketball Falls to Mohawk Valley CC

The Herkimer College men's basketball team came up short, falling 72-65. It was a back-and-forth battle for most of the game, but a strong second half by Mohawk Valley ultimately sealed the win for the Hawks.

Sophomore Oladele Oladitan led the way for the Generals with 19 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and had 2 assists in a solid all-around performance. In his 34th career game off the bench, Jayson McGhee gave Herkimer a boost, putting up 12 points in just 19 minutes of play.

Tajuan Thomas contributed 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists, making an impact on both ends of the floor. Nehemiah Yisrael chipped in 7 points and led the team with 8 rebounds.

Herkimer battled hard on the boards, collecting 40 rebounds and hustling for 17 offensive boards, but their shooting percentages were a hurdle. The team shot 33.8% from the field and 23.1% from three-point range.

Mohawk Valley's Jamir Smith and Andre Pasha were key for the Hawks, scoring 21 and 19 points, respectively, and helping their team dominate on the boards with 45 rebounds.

The Generals have a quick turnaround, heading up to North Country on Saturday for a 3:00 PM tip-off.
