Generals receive At-Large bid to the National Tournament
Herkimer NY- For the sixed straight season, the Herkimer Generals are heading back to the NJCAA Division III National Tournament. The Generals (21-4) received the #9 national seed tournament and will take on #8 seed Rock Valley CC (21-9) on March 9th at 7 PM EST.
The Generals bring an experienced group to the National Tournament. Starting guards Jayden Stephens (Yonkers, NY), Shykell Brown (Rochester, NY) and Keyshawn Miller (Yonkers, NY) all played valuable minutes during the 2020 National Tournament run. Miller said he "was cautiously optimistic that we were going to get an at-large bid." Adding, "We have played well all season and we're happy that the National Committee agreed". Miller went on to say "I told the guys that everything happens for a reason, but now it's time to get back to work." Brown added "the two biggest takeaways from the 2020 run was to take care of our bodies (to be ready to play back to back days) and to take each game one possession at a time. We have a good feel for the competition and the team is in a great place mentally."
