Generals knock off Hawks to advance to Region III Semi-Finals

Herkimer NY-Mohawk Valley came into the Regional Quarterfinal averaging 70 points a game, but the Generals the Herkimer Generals defense was up to the match. The Generals defense swarmed all night, only allowing 37 points to the cross town rival. The Generals dominated from the tip outscoring the Hawks 25-14 at the half en-route to a 61-37 victory.

The Generals were led Chris Volo(Westbury, NY), Shykell Brown(Rochester, NY) and Jayden Stephens(Yonkers, NY). Volo turned in another double-double, scoring 11, while pulling down 10 rebounds. Defensively, Volo had 2 steals and 2 blocks. Brown was the high scorer on the night with 14 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal. Stephens had 12 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and a steal.

Herkimer moves to 21-3 on the season and will travel to Genesse CC to take on the Onondaga CC in the Regional Semi-Finals. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 PM.
