Generals split the weekend

Troy NY- The Herkimer Men's Basketball team traveled to Hudson Valley CC Vikings and North Country CC Saints this past weekend. On Friday, the Vikings took a 38-33 advantage over the General at the half. Herkimer stormed back in the second half but the Vikings held on to knock the Generals off 74-72.

The Generals were led by D'Ante Quinlan (Yonkers, NY) who scored 10 points while pulling down 10 rebounds. Quinlan added 3 assists and 2 steals on the night. Chris Volo (Westbury, NY) had 12 points, 5 rebounds and 3 blocks. Jayden Stephens (Yonkers, NY) had 13 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocks. The loss sent the Generals to 13-2 on the season.

Saranac Lake, NY- On Sunday the General's once again took went down in the first half 41-37 but the defense tightened up in the second half to overtake the Saints 74-69. Shykell Brown (Rochester, NY) led all scoring with 24 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists. Chris Volo added 10 points while pulling down 22 rebounds and Jayden Stephens (Yonkers, NY) scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The win moves the Generals to 14-2 on the season.

The Generals are back in action Wednesday at 7 PM, when they travel to Fulton Montgomery CC (6-5) for a conference and regional matchup.
